NEW 〰️ A safe space 〰️

Introducing, A safe space collection.

Having adapted to shooting in harsh conditions of the ocean, I was now free to take on more of an author figure and create the scenes I imagined underwater without the volatility of ocean conditions but still capturing the wild, unrehearsed movements of liberated women.

Because they are stripped of clothing, the images take on a womb-like scene, and we can feel the vulnerability and surrender of their bodies as they suspend and move delicately in the water, a safe space.

Taking inspiration from 1960’s LA poolside documentary photography it was important to be equally fly-on-the-wall as it was author of this series.

Working with friends gifted me the spicy spontaneity and ease which takes on the charm of youthful freedom, so we are simultaneously transported to an underworld with a dreamlike quality that balances surrealism and photojournalism.
